When to Hire a New Manager
There are usually warning signs that the workload in your organization needs to be divided. To keep your culture and your business functioning smoothly, keep an eye out for the following warning signs.
Not enough is getting done – There are multiple reasons for this, but if the current team is not getting enough done, it may be time to consider adding players. Of course, you need to make sure that you're getting maximum value from your current team before you go adding to it.
You are receiving complaints and or losing customers – Again, there are many reasons for this, but if it's due to lack of attention and that lack of attention is due to a lack of hours in the day, it may be time to call in reinforcements.
Missing orders/deadlines – When your team is unable to keep up with demand, your business is handicapped.
Employees are unhappy or burnt out – Keep an eye on your staff. Are they happy? Motivated? Engaged? Passionate? If not, this could be a sign that they are experiencing burnout and it may be time to divide the workload.
Overtime costs are high – If you're paying exorbitant amounts of overtime, consider hiring a full-time person to maximize the value of your employee investment.
Drop in quality or consistency – When you see the quality of your product or service being reduced, it could be a sign that you need more help.
